Refona specializes in the production and supply of biological control agents used in IPM systems. I was involved in the production of; Mites, "Stratiolaelaps scimitus" (Hypoaspis miles) and "Macrocheles robustulus"; Rove beetle, "Atheta coriaria". Processes include, feeding, breeding, quality control, packaging.This internship is the first part to my following internship at Rijk Zwaan. The knowledge and experience gained at Refona was applied during that period.

Ekoto implements cultivating strategies such as intercropping, strip agriculture, and crop rotation cycles to promote regenerative farming systems. Together with an assortment of farm tasks I oversaw an ancient legume trial and managed the company's social media account.
