The Cicero Law & Policy Fellowship offers enthusiastic, high-caliber law, business administration, public policy, public administration, and other graduate students the opportunity to contribute their unique skills and talents to the policy development work of the policy arm of the Cicero Institute, Cicero Research. Law & Policy Fellows work with the Cicero staff to craft innovative policy initiatives that foster the competition of ideas at the state level. Cicero Research has first-hand experience with how laws and regulation can stifle innovation and competition, and it seeks to implement unique, entrepreneurial solutions to confront these problems. Over the last three years, the work that our Fellows have completed throughout the program has led to reforms that have become law in multiple states.

A one-year program for graduate students from any university and discipline who are interested in public policy.The aim of this fellowship is to introduce students to the Austrian, Virginia, and Bloomington schools of political economy as academic foundations for contemporary policy analysis, policy-relevant academic research, and other applied topics. Fellows will explore how this framework is utilized for a variety of topics (including entrepreneurship, technological innovation, public health, regulation, immigration, natural disasters and military conflicts, and federal and state fiscal policy) during a series of colloquia where they will interact with Mercatus scholars that work on policy analysis and policy-relevant academic research.
