About Kirby Downey
I am currently working in the additive manufacturing industry. I have been working with industrial grade 3D printers that use a powder based technology. I manage 8 HP MJF 5210 pros. I assist with the other 15 Eos machines and assist the upkeep the high standard of quality expected from 3DPRINTUK.I am also Level 2 shared maintenance certified making me the onsight service engineer for all HP printers doing maintenance, services and repairs for all 8 machines, 20 build units and 3 processing stations. I enjoy giving back to communities and spreading the knowledge of my skills to others so they can see it’s not too difficult to do the things I do.I’m an avid Lego collector and gaming nerd. I enjoy 3D printing out side of work on my own machines to recreate items from games so you too can hold them in real life. Cosplayers around the world use my props to complete their look and I have written many tutorials on how others can use 3D technology to do the same.With that same mentality I run the Solidworks User group network for London and I am also the Swugn Committee representative for Europe. I strive to make other say wow as they learn a new trick that makes their work flow better and also give them a space to meet others who may be using the technologies in unique ways so they too can work together and collaborate.I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge as that can help shape someone’s future and hopefully change the world.
