I worked as a nonprofit executive and a high school English teacher before entering the fascinating world of market research. Every step of my professional path has shaped my perspectives and my skills, and I leverage everything I've learned along the way in my current role as Senior Proposal Writer at Bellomy.As a teacher, I learned how to capture the attention of the toughest audiences. I observed how people (kids, teachers, and parents alike) think, learn, and perceive the world in different ways. Teaching also helped me develop empathy, and it reinforced the value of each person's unique characteristics and viewpoints. While working in nonprofit healthcare, I learned how to do a lot with a little and how to approach each new experience without fear. I honed my ability to synthesize quantitative data with qualitative stories to identify opportunities and design solutions. And empathy, much like in teaching, was a central aspect of my work.
