Hey there, I’m Kiril, a seasoned Product Designer with over 4 years of experience in the field of fintech 💻 My journey as a Product Designer (UX & UI) started in The Hague in 2016 at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. I obtained my User Experience Design BSc in 2019. In order to graduate, I joined the design agency Clockwork in Amsterdam where I wrote my thesis about voice technology, in particular Google home speakers. I presented valuable insights and a working demo to the team. The project impressed my lecturers and the judges from TNW’s T500, and as a result, I got an 8/10 for my thesis and a T500 certificate. Back at the time, I made the first steps toward becoming an ethical designer: I contributed several pages of my thesis on the negative consequences of voice technology and how it impacts our society. Therefore, the next logical step in my journey as an ethical designer was to find a company where I could impact the lives of millions. At Software Group I dived into the field of Fintech. For the African market, the projects I work on help accelerate the financial inclusion of the local population: Africans can easily open a mobile wallet account, take loans and withdraw money from local agents instead of distant ATMs. For the European market, I work on innovative financial projects. I continue sharing my journey with the design community by writing insightful articles on my Medium page. I believe that a designer’s crave for innovation should never undermine their code of ethics. I question every design decision I am taking on a daily basis and discuss it with my team. The Product Design field is the one I excel in as it gives me the freedom to solve problems in an innovative way and gather insights into human psychology and their emotional state. Back in 2014, I represented Bulgaria at a debate competition held in NYC and Singapore.Since 2023, I am also teaching 5-month UX & UI courses at Beetroot Academy 🍎
