How we procure and deliver projects is fascinating! I sit at the intersection of construction law, procurement strategy, risk management, human behaviour and governance models. I look for the patterns and interactions across systems and people to see things others miss.I speak and write regularly about procurement, challenging what we think about project delivery and demonstrating just how fascinating this area of endeavour really is. And I love working with clients who want to explore what is possible on their projects. My experience extends across a range of major projects delivered in the Australian market over the last two decades, from project conception to the litigation fall out. My technical background is as a construction lawyer, with 10 years in private legal practice and 15 years as general counsel for a large international professional consulting company. Between 2015 to 2019 I was included in Doyle’s Leading In House Construction Lawyers in Australia. I also have over 15 years of board experience.I am also extensively involved in the construction industry. I am currently on the board of the Society of Construction Lawyers Australia and am a member of the FIDIC Contracts Committee. I was a board member of Consult Australia from 2013 to 2019 with the last two years as Chair. I am also an active Member of the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation.In 2018 I was appointed as Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne, co-delivering the course Major Project Delivery: The Legal Interfaces as part of the Masters of Construction Law program.
