Learning has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. There's no greater feeling than approaching a seemingly insurmountable problem, overcoming the challenge, and becoming more knowledgeable as a result. This has made me an excellent problem solver who persists through difficult tasks until they are finished. A career in chemical engineering will certainly continue to fulfill my desire to learn. My most recent position was as a process engineer for the pad and cushion division at Mohawk Industries. Working under the director of manufacturing, I provided engineering support for six facilities. Throughout my tenure, I assisted in making the manufacturing processes throughout the division more lean. This included standardizing the TQM program, developing standards for manufacturing processes and machinery, and revising operating procedures to generate cost savings and improve product quality. Much to my dismay, my position was recently eliminated due to business need. I also previously worked as an intern for Chemours. This internship gave me experience with continuous improvement, process control, process safety, and Management of Change. I solved a long-standing pH control problem, implemented a streamlined level control system, and led a team in changing several important operating procedures. I am a Texas Tech University Chemical Engineer graduate and I hold an EIT certificate. I strive for excellence, as evidenced by my GPA of 3.93 and title of Summa Cum Laude. Through my education, I possess considerable knowledge in plant design, simulation, and process control. I am proficient in Excel, Aspen HYSYS, and MATLAB. I was able to apply these skills in a practical setting through several projects. I designed a modular distributed ammonia plant capable of producing 50,000 kg/ day. This plant utilized electrolysis and pressure swing adsorption as novel feedstock preparation methods. It replaced the traditional Haber-Bosch method of ammonia synthesis with reactive-separation. I also sized the control valves and tuned the controllers for the distillation column within TTU’s ethylene glycol pilot plant. I welcome you to take a look at the rest of my profile for additional details regarding my achievements.
