Using my detailed knowledge of the front to back systems architecture as well as broad and detailed product knowledge I developed a reputation as a Subject Matter Expert. This led to me taking on an important role developing procedures, workflows, and toolkits to enable full front to back closure of an entire trading entity. I directly influenced the Finance requirements and collaborated with project managers, Market Risk, Front Office, IT, and Operations to enable the project. In particular, I developed a highly advanced Excel toolkit and worked with IT to develop complementary data extracts from the Front Office systems, which allowed an unprecedented speed, accuracy, and automation of analysis. My contribution in this area directly affected the feasibility of the stretching targets set-down by senior management- and the solutions I developed helped to resolve many long standing problems with the Finance reporting architecture.Managed a team of three people to implement the clean-up and closure programme, which involved training individuals in products and technical skills as well as planning, organising and motivating the team to work towards meeting the demanding targets in the run-up to year end.

Working in Equity Derivatives area key responsibilities include P&L reporting and control of various trading and banking books including Arbitrage Risk Trading and Equity Quant Trading (algorithmic trading). I have also been responsible for the Non Core business and facilitated the unwinding of distressed/Non-Core positions, which entailed asset valuations, balance sheet forecasting, and direct liaison with third party agents.Products include vanilla equity/options, Interest Rate Swaps, Index and Interest Rate Futures, Convertible Bonds, Credit Default Swaps, and distressed bonds. Geographic span covers Asia, London, and US- thus necessitating teamwork at a global level.

Macroeconomic Policy and International Organisations branch of the Fiscal and Macroeconomic Policy team.In the area of monetary policy, I led on the preparation of official correspondence, contributed to Parliamentary briefing, and provided regular briefing on developments in financial markets.I led several projects such as devising new ways to incorporate IT and make briefing procedures more efficient (Bloomerg integrated into Excel) and developed measures to ensure that appointments to the Monetary Policy Committee became consistent with new guidelines from the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments.Contibuted to several high level presentations, including the Pre-Budget Report and Budget presentation roadshows. Also helped oversee the visits made by the IMF and OECD.
