Specializing in the assessment and treatment of violent offenders, including those adjudicated to sexually dangerous persons or for whom that is the referral question. Dr. Newring's practice also includes Threat Assessment, including consultation to K-12, higher education, and other agencies. Clinical practice also includes assessment of adjudicative competencies, threat assessment, risk assessment, and counseling. Experienced in the instruction of psychology at the undergraduate and graduate level. Interested in providing training to legal and mental health professionals on sexual offender risk assessment, violence risk assessment, and threat management. In 2016, Dr. Newring completed the Association of Threat Assessment Professional Threat Manager certification process and carries the Certified Threat Manager designation from ATAP.
