I was a Sr Software Engineer at Medidata in the within "Core Platform Services" organization, responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing various new and existing services under the Medidata clinical cloud platform. During my time there within the Platform Integration Team, I was a lead piloting & realizing staged to production delivery of service application(s) & Infrastructure-as-Code (IAC) configurations and a new JVM-based tech stack & CICD development pipeline. The target-architecture tech stack leveraged Kubernetes/EKS, Kafka/Amazon MSK, Github Actions (GHA) & Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code (IAC) technologies, after performing a bakeoff to garner buy-in from Principal Engineers and Architects, for selection of various elements of said stack (Java vs Kotlin/Scala, Maven vs Gradle, Spring Boot vs Quarkus, reactive vs standard synchronous persistence and http transaction handling) that were as intuitive as possible for a developer community generally accustomed to Ruby/Rails based Amazon ECS Web Apps & Services. While delivering the pilot(s) I held various demo's and mentoring sessions in coordinating efforts with intrateam/interteam developers at all levels of experience, and illustrated multiple ways of integrating with various aspects of the existing Clinical Cloud Platform web services.

I was brought on with AiCure in 2015 to with a primary focus towards how to scale & evolve AiCure's development practices & backend service infrastructure, which had initially consisted of a single-instance-per-tenant Ruby on Rails monolithic application backend which serviced Web/Android/iPhone clients for the various participants, staff and sponsors of clinical trials. In the course of doing so I:* Researched, designed, and delivered various new internal technology architecture(s) & standards for a new tech stack & CI/CD pipelines targeting AWS public cloud infrastructure.* Mentored developers at various developers in all manner of topics related to the Object Oriented and Enterprise Integration Design Patterns associated with Service Oriented Architecture best practices.* Designed & delivered the initial of initial Java Spring-Boot microservices where the "biggest bang for the buck functionality was decoupled from the existing monolith app(s) for scaling, such as the "Video Data", "Schedule", & "Generic Data Service".* Independently developed and maintained a company "commons" repository which * Included shareable libraries and app-generator-archetypes to support normalized use of new AWS infrastructure (OpenAPI/API Gateway integration, AWS ECS/DynamoDB/RDS/S3/SQS/SNS/Cognito etc) and common-concern functionality (centralized-logging/metrics/authc/authz, etc via ElasticSearch/Logstash/Kibana, Splunk, Twilio, Dropwizard). * Exponentially reduced the time to delivery of new, decomposed microservice applications via the archetypes it included ("mvn archetype:generate" using my archetypes would set up a ready-to-run, containerized, Spring Boot, internal standard compliant, and CI/CD ready service template in 5 minutes vs a manual process and learning curve average of 1 month, that was "fully integrated" with the and developers could then immediately focus on the specific business logic, that became the start point of the next 10 services.

I was Development Lead for ATT Webhooks platform API - a service for first and third party applications/services to subscribe to messaging event streams (TEXT/MMS/etc) of the AT&T Wireless subscribers which have authorized said subscriptions for their lines and devices.I also did some design and leading development for some other mobile cloud messaging interfacing services that were under NDA.In addition to my regular commits to SCM for numerous projects, I regularly mentored other developers on team in preferred use of various technologies (build systems, SCM practices, Software stacks, unit/integration test coverage, etc.) to ensure best possible alignment with AT&T Target State Architecture standards; I mentored and assisted test team in constructing custom mock and test harnesses for automation of functional, negative, load, and end-to-end testing needs; and I provided support in agile iteration planning and the estimating Level of Effort for various proposals.
