I love to work with middle school students and enjoy helping them develop positive character. I have been teaching for 13 years and I strive to support students of all levels master the math skills and concepts they need to be successful in the 21st century. My excitement and energy in the classroom is contagious, motivating my students to have a new enthusiasm for math. I enjoy getting to know my students and work to create a learning environment that is supportive yet challenging. Through my years of experience, I’ve developed successful classroom management and engagement strategies that encourage students to achieve their best. I believe collaboration and teamwork is key in reaching a school’s potential. Thus, every day I work with my grade level colleagues to create and implement teaching strategies that are relevant and effective. Through this collaboration, our 6th grade math team increased our site’s SBAC scores that met or exceeded standards by 17%. I was awarded Teacher of the Year by my colleagues for my excellence in teaching and personal commitment to my students. I have been recognized for my teaching technique and serve as a model teacher for new teachers.
