On February 4, 2022, God blessed me with official retirement from full-time employment. After 41 years as a newspaper journalist and 37 months as a writer in Creative Services/Marketing for OSF HealthCare in Peoria, I changed pace to live by my own clock and pursue other interests.I write songs and perform gigs, mostly around Central Illinois but I'm up for sharing music anywhere. I perform solo with my acoustic guitar, but I occasionally hook up with friends for duo work and I'm exploring more on that front. I'm excited to be part of an extraordinary community.In addition to music, I have a passion for travel, especially road trips. I try not to hate, but I do hate flying -- and by that I mean the entire experience. I love to drive. You experience things on the ground that you'll never see from 30,000 feet -- like the billboard in Kentucky that advertised "Tattoos While You Wait." (Think about it.) That said, I might be talked into an overseas journey or two. I'm also into local food, craft beer, the desert, birdie putts and how people deal with failure. Among other things.I want to be inspired -- and I want to inspire.I am on a quest to play my guitar better.And God is good. All the time.
