I began my construction career as a carpenter in the field, working on an apartment building in Pella, Iowa. Wanting to enhance my skills and move up in the industry, I decided to enroll in a technical college to become a drafter. I graduated by taking night classes while working full-time and was soon hired as a drafter/designer. Through continuous hard work, desire to learn, and knowledge of the construction industry, I landed a Senior CAD Technician role, a project lead, and finally a Project Manager with Buresh Building Systems.What I’m most proud of in my career is working with major companies, including Des Moines University Clinic, Kemin Industries, Iowa National Guard, and Iowa Speedway, on the design and construction of many buildings throughout Des Moines and surrounding areas. For the past eight years, I’ve focused primarily on agricultural facilities throughout Iowa and the US. When I complete a multi-million-dollar project on budget and on time while fully meeting customer expectations, I deliver a high ROI to the company. Most projects under my leadership complete ahead of schedule. In addition to technical skill and industry knowledge, my ability to lead effectively, deal with ambiguity, stress, changing priorities, and unforeseen obstacles contributes to my success. When I can be the calm in the storm and the voice of reason, everyone stays focused on solving problems and keeping projects on track. It’s my goal to find a position with a large organization where I can expand my role both in scope and value to the company and customers. Cigar box guitars have no rules of how they are made or played, some are electric and some just acoustic. The beautiful colors, size, and uniqueness of the cigar boxes give these instruments some great caricature. Based off of the uniqueness and quality craftsmanship, these pieces become a one of a kind instrument.
