About Kirk Dewitt

A student of the construction/development business from a young age and captain of a state champion wrestling team, I grew up knowing the value of hard work. Before graduating college I had built nearly 100 homes and devised a business strategy to capitalize on gains in the market by starting a property management firm. While completing my degree, I worked my way up within a mid-sized construction firm. I launched additional ventures to fill market gaps – juggling running a land construction company, overseeing development, and working with senior managers to close acquisition deals.I have acquired and developed nearly 2,000 lots, built thousands of homes, and run profitable acquisition, development, and construction businesses. I take pride in completing projects, developing talented teams, and translating my market knowledge and expertise in development into bottom-line value.KEY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS & WINS:$ Completed land construction for $30 million development 3 months ahead of schedule and under budget.$ Ushered $124+ million in land acquisition, development, and construction projects to completion with 45% average equity margin.$ Positioned a mid-sized regional construction company to compete with national builders, erecting 250 homes per year and earning $200 million in sales.$ Hired, trained, and developed managers to succeed with lean teams, bridging acquisition, development, and construction operations to achieve aggressive business goals.Being a parent and a coach have indeed been two of the most rewarding uses of the skills I gained as an athlete and a business leader. Outside of the office today, you can find me coaching football or wrestling or hanging out with family and friends.

Seeing an opportunity to round out the development and acquisition process by handling the land construction process, I launched Buckhorn and grew it to $2.5 million in annual sales and 50 employees. I directed 2 foremen in construction of utilities, oversaw capital investment, developed and managed budgets, and led equipment maintenance.
