Health and Fitness: I have been a certified professional fitness trainer since 1992, however I was helping others in health clubs and gyms since 1988. As a sergeant in the USMC I was responsible for the physical fitness of all those Marines in my charge. Self Defense/Security: I joined the USMC in 1981 and during my 11 years in I learned many things about security, their different levels, weakness and strengths. I learned how to safely and effectively utilize firearms, bayonets, explosives, improvised weapons and my bare hands to remove threats/obstacles in order to accomplish a goal. However it was growing up in the Bronx, in New York City that I learned about real life safety and the importance of awareness.From 1992 -1995 I started work as a bouncer in the largest (1200 person capacity) nightclub in Yuma, AZ. During these years I learned a great deal about human nature that you can't learn in books and even more about violence and when and how to use it. From 1999 - 2003 I worked for a local private security firm. I did two out of state surveillance jobs, executive protection (body guard) for the VP of a large company, help set up the security for Madison, WI first Ironman Triathalon, learning to work well with local law enforcement and helping hundreds of people stay safe.2006 - 2007 I was security coordinator for Overture Center For The Arts. during my time here I was responsible for the training of the hourly security staff and the safety of all guest, staff and material assets (the building). CPR/AED/First Aid training: 2002 - present I became a CPR instructor with the American Heart Association as a result of a need that the private security firm I worked for had to dispatch CPR certified security to all client locations. I worked as an independent contractor for Dean Health Works and have had the chance to work with a wide variety of people who wish to make a positive difference in their community.Specialties: Fitness instruction - CPR/AED/First Aid instruction, proactive self defense/awareness, safety consulting - corporate and small facility crowd control
