1. Proactively found a solution for the egregious losses occurred during the drying process of maize through the construction of a solar drying centre which recuperated all of the losses occurred during the drying process. This drying centre was the first to be constructed by U.C.A. and the first of its kind in Uganda. 2. Was the project manager and acted as the liaison between the engineer, U.C.A. and C.C.A. 3. Created and implemented a business plan and accounting system for the co-operative to follow.4. Advised the co-operative how to reinvest the profits generated from the drying centre.5. Achieved the goal of increasing the quality of the maize which enabled the area co-operative enterprise to enter the high end market and increased sales to bulk purchasers from Kampala, South Sudan, Kenya and Tanzania.6. Drying Centre Statistics: Savings: 15% or 41 tonnes of maize annually.- Savings (CAD): $11,400 annually or $136,800 over the lifetime of the project.- Increased profit for the farmer’s (CAD): $7,000 annually or $84,000 over the lifetime of the project..- Increased profit for the A.C.E. (CAD): $2,500 annually or $30,000 over the lifetime of the project.7. Undertook market research and identified future funding opportunities for C.C.A. in sustainable projects such as beekeeping, aquaponics, storage facilities and the further expansion of the drying centres.8.
