As part of my ongoing studies, I developed expertise in Human Resources, Training & Assessment & Business Management. I achieved an Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. My background in IT systems and accounting assisted the company in finding solutions to HR and Payroll shortfalls. Under my service, Pilbara Construction won the 2007 WA WorkSafe Awards for best OSH management system and over the last 8 years have received 3 WorkSafe Platinum certifications.

I fulfilled the responsibilities and activities of Safety Advisor in accordance with the HSEC policy and systems of TCC and the Client mine site. 75% of work involved BHPBIO and PHPA port infrastructure. The remainder was spent coordinating safety conducted on mine sites. Some more obscure assistance in managing accounting issues and executing tenders which resulted in Dampier Salt contracts demonstrated my flexibility.

Maintenance and operational duties required to reliably manage and operate Alinta’s power Station. Took on diverse duties as part of a highly adaptable team. Spent a large portion of time managing Alinta’s site safety requirements whilst continuing to plan and execute mechanical maintenance programs and operational duties.

Worked in a multi-skilled team environment, operating a complex petro-chemical process that included numerous individual process units and other product services such as ship loading and laboratory testing. Co-ordinated day to day planned maintenance activities. Through study and practical competencies, achieved Refinery Technician – System Specialist role and spent much of my career coordinating plant operations from a centralised control room. Port Operations included mooring, loading, sampling and surveying along with overseeing maintenance programs on bulk terminal infrastructure. A great deal of advanced training in emergency services was provided particularly in the area of large fuel fire containment which included the use of vehicle tenders and attack strategies. The plant also had steam utilities and I was trained in the maintenance and operation of water treatment, multistage turbines and gas fired boilers.

Coordinate day to day maintenance activities in a large volume furniture manufacturing company based in Victor Harbor, South Australia.

Worked as a night shift supervisor at a foundry in Kilburn. Bradken at Kilburn manufactured components for the rail and mining industries. I did additional work in the engineering department drafting engineering drawings for the pattern department which was a separate role that I performed when developing new products.

Commenced work in a manufacturing plant as a apprentice Fitter and Turner. The company was initially called Omark Industries that manufactured firearms, power actuated masonry anchoring guns and assorted fasteners. It also made an all metal railway track system along with switch tracks. After completing my apprenticeship, I was employed in the engineering department for 12 months and developed production methods along with the development of tooling and the writing of CNC programs. I did a great deal of engineering drafting 'the old way' before the development of CAD.
