I began my career in 1990 as a life insurance agent for Sunlife. In 1995 I joined Atlantic Blue Cross as their Western Nova Scotia Group Account Manager. Working with the largest health and benefit insurer in Atlantic Canada provided me with in-depth understanding on design and development of employee benefits plans as well as the history of how they developed in the marketplace. This is where my passion for employee benefit plans was born. In 1999 after a corporate restructuring my position with Blue Cross ended, and my journey toward the goal of business ownership began. After a false start with one agency, I joined Dwight Johnson at his agency in Berwick in 2003. I became partner in the agency in 2007, and President in 2010. Today Dwight Johnson Financial has been renamed and rebranded to Copperstone Financial Group. As its President I continue to grow the agency. We represent the benefit plans for over 100 Nova Scotia business’s with a combined workforce of over 3000 employees.
