Māori and Pasifika Trades Training Auckland was not your ordinary General Manager's role. We started from ground zero to build what became Māori and Pasifika Trades Training: Auckland. Establishing the board (and then reporting to them), defining and establishing an operational framework (collective impact), developing our brand and brand identity, setting and executing the strategy, securing funding, budgeting and forecasting, internal and external stakeholder relations, PR, communications with the board, tracking performance, and establishing working culture of the collective.They needed someone who was comfortable in resource constrained environments, had proven experience in leading and delivering complex multi stakeholder operation, a proactive and forward thinker, and a passion for education and trade training in New Zealand to work across our team. Our team included iwi, employers, industry training organisations, polytechnics, private training enterprises and community organisations all working together to help Maori and Pasifika become leaders in the trades. We combined trades training with coaching and financial support, and connected trainees with employers to take them right into the heart of their chosen trade. We knew our audience and told good stories to help them on their journey for a better Auckland.In 2022, Maori and Pasifika Trades Training turns 10 years old, and operates under the same brand and kaupapa. Lifelong Learning: Providing learning experiences throughout the Museum (onsite, online, offsite). Applying a strategic approach to practical planning which is well grounded in learning theory.Educational leadership across the Museum, enabling the strategic development and delivery of learning experiences for schools, families, community groups, tourists and other visitors. Responsible for developing relationships with key funding agencies and relevant community organisations.

Providing academic and operational leadership to staff and students across a diverse range of programmes. Full budget accountability. A member of the senior leadership team, reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Science. A member of the MIT Academic Quality Assurance committee and Foundation Learning Board of Studies at MIT and UoA.

Held a range of roles including Lecturer, Advanced Practitioner, Programme Leader - Science, Maths, Care and Childcare, and finally Division Manager - Science and Health.

Post-harvest ozone treatments of fruit and vegetables. New and alternative product development, including seaweed aquaculture.

Providing training support to new customers.

Leading a team to construct kit-set solid wood homes in Auckland and Hawaii.

Development of a trial freshwater aquaculture Tilapia farm.
