About Kirk Shepard, Lpc Cgp
I am a group facilitator, counselor, clinical supervisor and educator. Power imbalances and systems of oppression are central to my therapeutic understandings and interventions. My work is largely focused on identity development and cultivating meaningful relationships in the midst of an increasingly chaotic climate.I share strategies and experiences that support relational and collective growth. I have a special affinity for supporting folks who are challenged by the mental and emotional toll of climate change. I have been in the social worky and counseling field for 15+ years. In my experiences, it has become clear that mental & emotional healing happens best in connection with others. Solidarity is power. This is why I dig Group work. Group work, at its core, celebrates the interconnectedness of humanity. It beckons us to set aside the notion of isolated individuals and embrace the strength of unity. Within these collaborative spaces, power dynamics are reimagined, giving way to equitable partnerships where each voice is heard, valued, and respected. In the realm of group work, transformative justice takes root. Through courageous facilitation, conversations and compassionate resolutions create space where accountability becomes a shared responsibility, and healing becomes a collective endeavor.
Listed skills include Community Outreach, Psychotherapy, Program Development, Mental Health Counseling, and 28 others.
