I have recently been traveling throughout south-east Asia for three months. What I noticed most during this trip, is how unaware people are about the consequences of all the waste, especially the plastic waste, they just throw into nature. There are no regulated garbage services and nobody really knows what to do with all the excess waste. Therefore, it just ends up in nature. I got very worried about this. We, as a society, are at a critical point of losing control. We might not even be able to get our planet back to a healthy and balanced state. Upon my return to our semi-organised Netherlands I was certain that I wanted to do something about this. I want to learn more about the problematics. And I also want to contribute by thinking about possible changes and solutions and help implementing them.
