About Kirsten Vasko

I am a positive, enthusiastic teaching professional with strong classroom management, coaching and mentoring skills at the elementary school level for special needs and regular education students. I have four professional NY State Teaching Certificates in special education, elementary education, early childhood education and literacy. I combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, caring teacher to make a positive contribution to my students education. I'm comfortable with technology in the classroom and leverage it when appropriate. I teach to common core standards at multiple grade levels, and I have used a number of different reading programs including a balanced literacy approach, the Wilson Reading System and Writing Workshop.
