Kirsty-Anne Pugh, a qualified Head Teacher worked within industry in Sales & Marketing Management for 14 years before changing direction, re-training and setting up one of the first alternative and independent schools, `The Alternative School` in 2007.Kirsty-Anne was the sole founder and head teacher of the school and after leaving her management role within a fortune 500 company, decided to return to study for a social work degree. Throughout the next 4 years, Kirsty-Anne built up her knowledge of the sector by working at various FE colleges, training providers, homeless hostels and residential care establishments, mainly with young people in the `NEET` category. Following her 6 years as the Headteacher of the school and achieving her headship qualification, Kirsty-Anne now spreads her time around her consultancy work, as governor of a Short Stay School, expanding her own school into new areas, supporting TAS as the executive headteacher and developing internal and external trainings and slide-shares around positive behaviour management. Before deciding to re-train, Kirsty-Anne was a Trustee for a local charity for 2 years, Brierfield Action in The Community (BAIC) and is currently The Community Governor for Oswaldtwistle Short Stay School (PRU), a 2014 BVC Winner and is developing her own strategy to expand the already proven Alternative School Model across the country. To date, The Alternative School has supported over 300 pupils gain qualifications, build their confidence with 100% of full-time pupils moving onto further education, employment or apprenticeships, potentially saving the public purse an estimated £23 million pounds in direct and indirect costs.

Overseeing all aspects of setting up and running a school including HR, PR, Financial Management, Curriculum, H&S, Policies & Procedures, developing a board.

Various positions held within Further Education, Post 16 Training Providers, Housing & Homeless Hostels as well as residential care homes for children in order to build a portfolio of experience. Sourcing and purchasing products from Far East Suppliers, re-packaging and branding for a large range of UK supermarket and store chains.Developing and planning the product range, product design and stock control for Christmas, Halloween and Everyday party ranges.Developing be-spoke and unique ranges to high street retailers - Woolworths, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Wilkinsons, Tesco, Waitrose, BHS, WHSmith and more.Promoted in 1997 from Assistant Product Manager.
