My name is KiShawn McClain and I currently attend the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. I am from Rosenberg, Texas and attending high school at Terry HS. There, I played football and earned a full ride scholarship to college for being a safety. While attending UNT, I have managed to make records on the football field at the same time I keep up a high GPA and attend a weekly tutoring schedule. While starting school, I was not entirely sure on what I wanted to do when it came time to graduate. However, this summer semester of school I have gained interest in working in the medical field, and beginning that journey as an assistant or receptionist at a doctor’s office. During this semester I have also learned the importance of having background knowledge in a career field before you decide to dive in. I know that having a strong resume will help my presentation to future employers when I am at job interviews in the near future. I have interest in building a resume with internship or volunteer hours, which I plan to begin before graduation so I can get my foot in the door. Anything that can broaden my knowledge is something I am interested in pursuing because starting from the ground up, I have a lot to learn. I am open and willing to any opportunity that will help my future, and I look forward to starting my career and pushing myself to advancing my dreams.
