I was responsible for acquiring and validating data from financial institutions operating in the capital markets from all levels of the value chain (eg investments banks, brokers, central securities depositaries etc) in 18 European financial centres. In addition, I also created some complex tables so that the senior staff in OXERA could easily compare the results received this year with those for 2006. In this job I had to work to tight deadlines, communicate with a range of employees in the institutions supplying the data to request missing information and to check specific information if this was out of the range of likely answers, or was internally inconsistent. These institutions were located across a number of different countries. The nature of this work meant that multiple tasks had to be running simultaneously, and all of them had to be proactively managed.
