Stephenson Harwood LLP (UK) - Senior Technical Analyst / Architect Working with our technical partners, I was responsible for designing Infra blueprint and ensuring all Infra related services adhered to vendor best practices. My scope comprised of compute virtualization which included network virtualization using Xsigo technology, windows active directory / messaging environment, storage / backup’s which included offsite replication, backups and overall life cycle managing. Key accomplishment includes;• Implementation of 10GB InfiniBand technology using Xsigo Virtual I/O to minimize cost and maintenance window during office relocation. This helped ensured the successful planning, execution and relocation of all Infra equipment within the approved 3 weekend change window. Additional benefits included a 70% reduction of cabling and therefore freeing up ports on expensive Top Of Rack Fabric Interconnects. • Migrate from Datacore software defined storage to Dell Compellent SAN technology. The scope to implement an effective disaster recover solution using VMware SRM and the inbuilt replication capabilities of the storage was also included.• Upgraded ALL offices within an 18 months period. Work involved included the installation of new key infrastructure components & building blocks and to P2V applications from all existing hardware (EOL).• Installation of Exchange 2010 and migration of 750+ users from Exchange 2003. Work included the configuration / replication of Database Availability Groups to the DR site and integration of the Client Access Servers to the F5 load balancer.

Working out of in bluesource’ state of the art operations center, my duties was to provides dedicated remote, onsite and monitoring services for our clients VMWare / Storage infrastructure, Active Directory / Messaging environments using various monitoring tools such as Solarwinds / NetIQ to actively predict potential messaging and performance issues before they arise. Key highlights includes;• The successful implementation of a 3 months virtualization project in which the client was introduced to the capabilities of VMWare and Datacore’ Storage Virtualization technology as a complete SAN solution for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (using asynchronous data mirror). This solution provided significant advantages in terms of both High Availability and High Resiliency by presenting LUNS to the Application Servers as a Third Party Mirrors, this ensured that storage volume can fail over between Datacore controllers without any downtime to the Application Servers / ESX hosts. Signoff by client was completed after successful validation of functionality of the applications by key users after failover to DR site.• Main Technical lead for the successful Head Office relocation of a city Law Firm which included the migration of key applications from two DR sites back into their Head Office. Working closing with the key stakeholders, agreed times was set over a period of 4 weeks to V2V a number of Virtual Machines back onto a single DR site and then lift and shift all Infra components back to head office.
