Kit co-founded a “blue ocean” video gaming venue concept that championed video gaming as a sport. Our unique value proposition solved the problem of Internet connections giving an unfair advantage to some competitors over others. Our Country Club “look and feel” venue housed a state of the art internal LAN that provided the same gaming speed to all players which leveled the playing field in competitive gaming. The multiple living/game rooms had soft jazz playing in the background and the well appointed sitting areas allowed mothers a chance to read or enjoy quiet time while being served tea or a glass of wine, on the house. All of the noise of the game was played over headsets so the environment was tranquil and serene. We also standardized competitive gaming computers provided by Hewlett Packard and sold them to our players to practice at home. We developed sponsor ships that provided the largest prize purses in video gaming venue history. We were featured on network TV and interviewed by hundreds of newspapers and radio stations but our highest achievement was when we were “slashdoted.” This happens when hundreds of thousands or millions of geeks visit your site at the same time when the website, Slashdot recommends they do so. This event usually results in the internet service provider’s servers getting overloaded and they shut down. This happened to us twice as we made announcements. Similar to the barrel of Gatorade being dumped all over the winning coach, it only happens when geeks give you their highest approval. We had an impressive string of firsts which expanded the demographic to include women, seniors and first responders. We developed team building exercises and provided Phd. feedback to each of our corporate client participants. HoloDek was considered “best in category" and enjoyed a wonderful reputation in the community.
