Having spent several years working as an instructor, initially as a diving instructor in Spain, and then as an Outdoors Instructor in the UK, I had, almost without realising it, spent the entirety of my working life teaching people. Thus, once I had completed my degree in marine biology it seemed almost inevitable that I would end up continuing in education. Sure enough, I soon found myself enrolled on the PGCE at Cambridge and will hopefully be a qualified secondary biology teacher by the end of the academic year.Outside of education, I have never lost that initial fascination with the water and continue to take any opportunity I can to get either on it (sailing, kayaking, etc), or in it (diving, sailing, kayaking, the second two resulting in my getting wet more regularly than I would like).Seemingly having been born without an artistic bone in my body I have found that writing and photography allow me to express my creativity without being held back by my lack of artistic talent.
