Situated in the Market Developments Team, the Project Leads Organic role is responsible for leading priority projects to support delivery of the Victorian Organics Resource Recovery Strategy.Key objectives of the role:- Identifying emerging market opportunities for Recycled Organics within the agriculture and horticulture sectors- Working with the composting industry to provide guidance to support establishment of these potential end markets- Developing quality assurance processes and specifications for Recycled Organic products- Supporting delivery of the Organic waste to land project

The Bulk Water Entitlements team is responsible for overseeing and driving continuous improvement in Victoria's bulk water sharing and operating arrangement. The team provides policy and technical advice on bulk water sharing and river operations, interstate water sharing agreements and water resource availability and management issues.Specific projects:- Review of the compliance framework for reporting against the conditions of bulk entitlements- Preparation of the Annual Victorian Water Outlook 2016- Research and assessment of the future risk of demand-based congestion in the Barmah Choke- Review and endorsement of metering programs for environmental watering in Victoria

Situated within the Environmental Operations team, this role focuses on providing advice, guidance, services and support on all aspects of environmental management to minimize risk and manage compliance across the Murray Goulburn.Key achievements:- Undertook independent environmental audit of fresh milk production site in NSW- Developed Operational Environmental Management Plan and Pollution Incident Response Management Plan for fresh milk production site in NSW- Developed environment hazard register for Koroit site- Delivered $250K noise reduction project at Koroit including installation of acoustic attenuation on cooling towers and an air compressor- Undertook a review of spray dryer air emissions across the business and negotiated EPA licence amendment for the Koroit, Maffra and Rochester sites

Situated within the Environment and Energy team, this role focuses on providing practical information, advice and assistance to members to assist with their environmental challenges.In this role, I delivered a range of environmental consulting services including compliance auditing, risk assessment, training and assistance in development of environmental management systems and environmental management plans.Specific projects:Coordination and delivery of the EPA-funded Assessing Compliance and Environmental Risk Training (ACERT) program- Design of environmental compliance audit protocol- On-site compliance reviews at 63 businesses- Design of training sessions in environmental compliance, operational management and risk management- Delivery of 16 training sessions throughout VictoriaDevelopment of environmental monitoring plans for 7 sites for a major Australian food manufacturerDesktop review of recent environmental compliance and regulatory activities in Victoria, New South Wales and TasmaniaDesign and delivery of training / workshops in:- Managing environmental risk and compliance obligations - delivered in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria- Managing Australian Packaging Covenant obligations- Contractor management

I managed a team of six technical staff to deliver technical consulting projects in the areas of air quality, acoustics and greenhouse gas emissions.

Supported clients with respect to regulatory requirements for the licensing of air emissions.Designed and implemented ambient air quality monitoring programs.Conducted air quality impact assessment and dispersion modelling studies.

Provided specialised client management of large industrial premises with respect to licensing, compliance and other regulatory functions.Undertook investigation, surveillance and enforcement functions in response to community complaints of environmental pollution.
