I have over 40 years of experience in civil aviation, spanning Search and Rescue (SAR) coordination, air traffic services business contingency planning, air traffic control operations, and conducting professional SAR courses. As a specialist in SAR, I plan and coordinate SAR operations and have supported international high profile cases like MH370 and QZ8501. Beyond aeronautical SAR, I also have experience providing support for maritime SAR operations such as the USS John S. McCain and Alnic MC collision case. I represent Singapore in international forums, collaborating closely with global partners in my capacity as the Chairman of the ICAO APAC SAR Working Group, Vice-Chairman of the ICAO/IMO Joint Working Group for Harmonisation of Aeronautical and Maritime SAR, participant of The ASEAN Transport SAR Forum, and participant of the Cospas-Sarsat Programme.Apart from SAR, I oversee business contingency plans for air traffic services such as pandemic plans, system outages, adverse weather, etc.
