I have co-developed and written grant proposals that secured several grants which underpinned the company's capacity-buildng initiatives including the first award from the National Endowment for the Arts in the company's twelve year history. I also collaborated with a local government department in developing grant proposals to support a multi-year co-production initiative designed to activate historic publicly-owned properties and attended and reported back on grant program meetings.After a hiaitus during the COVID lockdown, I renewed my work with the company.

I wrote grant proposals that raised over $300K, managed and led an end of year fundraising campaign, updated and streamlined the G Suite filing system for development, and maintained the fundraising database for one of the Mountain West's leading mid-size theatre companies.

I worked with founding members of the Creative Nations Collective of Indigenous Artists and Dairy staff to develop proposals and create budgets that secured multiple grants including first-time awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and Arts in Society.I also attended a company retreat during which we co-developed a strategic plan.I continued to consult with Creative Nations after the founding members had ceased to be involved in day-to-day operations and new administrative leadership was appointed. I remained in contact as an advisor. in Fall 2023, a new administrator was appointed. I have maintained contact with two artist advisors of the Collective, and am renewing my involvement on an advisory basis.

I was responsible for developing fundraising initiatives to support Indigenous peoples in Colorado and Indigenous Peoples Day awareness and collaborations across the region.CIPD was launched during the first few months of the COVID pandemic and closed a year later.

I provided strategic planning and grantwriting services for non-profit arts and culture organizations in Denver Metro, Boulder and Fort Collins. My proposals secured grants from multiple foundations and government agencies including first time direct grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. I served on steering committees to provide industry input for the creation of a 10-year cultural master plan for city government and to establish a new tax district for arts and culture organizations. I also collaborated on programming for creative workforce development, creative placemaking projects, and equity and inclusion initiatives.

New York And Colorado

I was one of multiple people laid off due to budget shortfalls and relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado.Soon after arriving, I volunteered to serve alongside local arts and culture leaders on the leadership team to establish a citizen-supported cultural tax district, the Larimer County Scientific and Cultural Facilities District. I co-organized and co-led presentations to the Fort Collins City Council Finance Committee, drafted campaign language, contributed to and took minutes at committee meetings and group meetings with funders and government representatives, set up and maintained a campaign calendar, collected signatures for the ballot initiative and distributed yard signs. I joined as an individual volunteer, then after I began freelance work for a local theatre company I was asked to be their representative on the campaign.

I was responsible for all institutional development initiatives at the Academy, the longest established artist-led institution in the US. I wrote proposals that secured $2M from individual donors and family foundations.

I was honored to work with these phenomenal musicians the year Musical America named the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) Ensemble of the Year. My proposals secured a six-figure grant from the New York Community Trust, the company's first grant from the US State Department, the largest NEA grant in the company's history, and more. I worked with the management team and ensemble members to develop a new entrepreneurial team model and managed relationships with institutional funding bodies.

Greater New York City Area

I tripled annual income from foundations, government agencies, and corporations, securing the two largest grants from the NEA in Aperture's history, first time grants from the Knight Foundation and the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès, and support from the Mexican, French, Dutch, Japanese and Swiss governments. I developed and implemented a multi-year institutional giving campaign that provided essential funding and partnership resources for a series of 60th anniversary exhibitions and publications and the Paul Strand Project. My work on the latter contributed to the establishment of the Paul Strand Collection at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Colección Paul Strand at Fundación Televisa in Mexico.

I was one of multiple people laid off due to government budget cuts, and took a year's sabbatical in Berlin. I served as an advisor for "Bauerntheater", a site-specific performance that inaugurated a new cultural center based on a farm in East Germany dedicated to commissioning and supporting art and agriculture partnerships. I also worked with Polish theatre and opera director Henryk Baranowski on translations and production R&D in Berlin, Warsaw and Łódź.

I collaborated with curators and conservators to secure government and foundation grants in the six and seven figures for major art acquisitions and groundbreaking research projects. My proposals secured funds from a range of government agencies and foundations for art acquisitions, research, exhibitions, conservation, live art presentations and educational programs.

I worked with staff leadership and board members to secure grants that resourced Orpheus' transition from a traditional hierarchical administrative structure to a new musician-led operating model. This involved leveraging growing recognition of Orpheus' collaborative music-making model, developed over the course of decades through performing without a conductor and having a rotating team of musicians lead rehearsals and performances instead. Orpheus was being sought after by businesses seeking ways to inspire more creative and effective engagement from middle managers. This was particularly true in Japan, where Orpheus was featured as a top story on the evening TV news as a potential solution to widespread stagnation in the Japanese business world at the middle management level.

Dumbo, Brooklyn

At GAle GAtes et al., I brought home the company's first five multi-year grants laying the groundwork for the company's rise as a pioneer of immersive performance and one of New York's leading alternative performance and visual art companies. I was involved in fundraising, budgeting, and programming for events in our 40,000 sq ft warehouse space on the Brooklyn waterfront and co-produced and secured support for an international immersive performance series and a series of exhibitions of work by international emerging artists.

At Lincoln Center, my applications raised millions of dollars for Lincoln Center Festival presentations and established an endowment fund. I was also a member of a team that planned and launched a new website, and secured a multi-year grant for the establishment of Lincoln Center's first dedicated audience development post.
