CurrentKit Gorton is a consultant advising healthcare and human services organizations on policy and operations. As a professional speaker, his areas of focus are Medicaid/Duals, accountable care and the use of technology to transform care management. He is a director of Medsolis LLC, an early-stage telehealth solution company. Kit is a Commissioner on the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission, a non-partisan legislative branch agency that provides policy and data analysis and makes recommendations to Congress, the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the states on a wide array of issues affecting Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). During his business career he led the turn-arounds several health plans, most recently serving as President of Tufts Health Public Plans, Inc. In this role he led the turn-around and integration of the Medicaid subsidiary, expanded the Massachusetts business to include dual eligible and qualified health plan enrollees, and successfully bid to enter Rhode Island’s managed Medicaid program. Kit’s previous public service included serving as the Chief Medical Officer of the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. He received his clinical training in Pediatrics and served in federally qualified health centers for 17 years. Kit is a disabilities advocate who volunteers in the inclusion rowing program at Community Rowing Inc. in Boston. He was previously an officer and director of the Arc of PA.
