Current Test foods, Non-food products, environmental and water products as per the national, international and industry standards methods or client’s requirements as appropriate. Sorting, grading, physical, chemical and microbiological analysis of cereals and grains Reagents preparation and standardization Writing and checking reports on analyzed foods, animal feeds and water Prepare and maintain required documentations as per ISO/IEC 17025:2005, ISO 9001:2008 and HSE standards Ensure that the results and the test data produced is accurate, reliable and within acceptable repeatability/ reproducibility. Maintain repeatability/ reproducibility values for major tests carried out. Ensure that calibration status of all equipment used is verified at all times before any testing is carried out and any equipment out of calibration reported immediately. Ensure that clients testing requirement are fully met and set turnaround time is complied with at all times Ensure that all laboratory activities under my control are carried in safe manner and any unsafe situation reported promptly to management for necessary action. This applies to general hygiene, sample testing, sample detention and sample disposal/destruction Keep abreast with the latest development of analytical standards related to microbiological and food technologies in order to continuously develop new methods and capabilities for validation and final adoption Participate in Proficiency Testing schemes e.g EAC, SADCMET, APTECA Advising /interpretations of chemical test results as per the KEBS Standards, WHO, ISO, WFP, or as per client requirement Carrying out microbiological/mycotoxins i.e. aflatoxin analysis in various products such as foods and animal feeds Undertaking environmental, food, soil, water and agricultural sample preparation, Instrumental analysis employing GC, GC-MS, HPLC, AAS, UV/VIS, data evaluation and analytical report writing Good working knowledge of major instruments s
