As a graduate assistant, I tutored undergraduate accounting students, recorded problem-based lectures used in an online financial accounting course, and taught undergraduate accounting classes on a substitute basis.

As part of my responsibilities at BEA, I assessed the effectiveness of internal controls and accountability within the Financial Performance System. I also performed testing and assessment of internal controls per the requirements of OMB Circular A-123 in order to validate business systems. Additionally, I assisted in the improvement of Accounts Payable processes to reduce lost discounts by assessing and documenting the process and identifying areas for improvement. I also completed various liability accounting functions, including processing of accounts payable and reconciliations of liabilities aging reports.

As a student internal auditor, I conducted interviews of all levels of business management personnel to identify the University's internal controls for the external auditors, Price Waterhouse Cooper. I assisted the external audit team by documenting the controls system in place. Further, I assisted the University's Budget Officer by enhancing the quality of the University's Stewardship Review presentation for the President. I also conducted planning and fieldwork of various academic departmental audits utilizing IDEA data analysis software, TeamMate auditing software, and Microsoft Office applications.

As a financial analyst intern, I assisted in a new process to define the performance metrics for various IT departments and develop a prototype for a performance assessment. I researched extensive marketing research and summarized the data in a presentation to decision-makers. Additionally, I analyzed company processes to assist in cost-saving and revenue-generating initiatives.
