Leading a team of experienced officers, I am responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of the Local Area system of governance in the Borough of Eastleigh. I support locally elected members and work collaboratively with colleagues across the Council and external partners to identify the needs of communities and deliver services and projects to improve the quality of life for our residents. I am currently spearheading a review of the local area system to create a more effective and impactful service.

Working for, and with, the local community, I managed the largest Local Area for Eastleigh Borough Council, supporting locally elected members and developing strategy and policy to meet local need. I worked in partnership with a wide range of local stakeholders including parish, town and county councils, schools and community organisations. I managed a small team and worked collaboratively with colleagues throughout the Council to maximise the successful delivery of planned services to communities. I acted as Project Sponsor for major capital projects and manage community budgets including grants.

An 18 month secondment to provide support to Planning Policy and Design team during which time I researched, wrote and co-authored a range of Policy guidance documents and papers for Local Development Framework Evidence Base.
