Manages a laboratory program for several instructional laboratories, including supervision of laboratory coordinators and student assistants. Duties include:Managing, selecting, training and coordinating the work of lab coordinators and student assistants assigned to the lab. Assist Dept. Head to monitor and evaluate performance of lab coordinators and student assistants.Manages the procurement of lab supplies and equipment for instructional labs, coordinating with Dept. requirements and business office and USG requirements.Recommends enhancements and revisions of lab course materials to faculty and Dept. Head based on pricing, availability of items required, and expense of waste disposal.Manages chemical and biological waste storage and arranges approved vendor disposal.Manages maintenance of equipment and facilitiesAssists faculty with approved vendor quotes for development of mentored research, lab instruction, and grant procurement.Provides/ arranges for training sessions for faculty, lab coordinators, student assistants and student researchers in safety, lab/chemical hygiene, the proper use of the lab, proper lab attire.Maintains records related to student researchers, ensuring that they have lab access, proper training, etc. as appropriate.

Working with the general public educating them on wildlife in the park, planning home school environmental education programs, holiday festivals, Jr. Ranger camps, day camps, and other outdoor recreational events for visitors to attend while visiting the park. Cleaning trails, working in the office, checking for park passes, participating in predator control trapping, and I am responsible for upkeep of live animals as well as the public nature center.
