I am dedicated to strengthening individuals and communities through connection, focusing on empowering survivors of sexual violence and fostering resilience. With an academic background in psychology, I have developed a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding trauma, mental health, and systemic inequities. These insights guide my pursuit of a career as a clinical mental health counselor, where I aim to provide trauma-informed care and advocate for systemic change. Currently, I serve as a Prevention Intern at the Rape Recovery Center, where I facilitate workshops for youth on topics such as consent, healthy relationships, and bystander intervention. I also create educational materials to raise awareness and promote the prevention of sexual violence. As a Peer Financial Counselor at Westminster University, I provided financial literacy education and support to peers, fostering their sense of stability and empowerment in managing financial challenges. Additionally, I have engaged in research projects exploring the impact of sense of belonging on academic retention for racial and ethnic minorities and the influence of gender role stress in intimate partner violence within the LGBTQ+ community. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to advocacy, trauma-informed care, and community empowerment. I am eager to leverage my skills and knowledge as I pursue a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a career dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual violence.
