Keona collaboratively uses her Lived Expertise (LEx) to provide insight to Service Providers within local Continuums of Care (CoC's) & National Youth Organizations alike to elevate and include the Youth & Young Adult (YYA) perspective in order to solve systemic issues from the ground up.Keona advocates for the inclusion, elevation, representation, and compensation of the youth voice within system change processes. Keona also passionately advocates for the empowerment, training, core outcomes, and establishment of authentic connections with youth and for youth. Keona has demonstrated her skills by training the trainers; Creating trainings for CoC's, facilitating discussion with community partners, and assisting in key conversations with the City & Governing Bodies regarding the better treatment and collaboration with YYA. Keona strives to be a positive role model for her own children and youth everywhere by leading by example; showing that lived experiences do not define ourselves as a whole.
