The Team’s responsibilities include:a. Implementing research, development, and teaching projects in the fields of competitive debates, education through debate, and related thematic areas.b. Organizing regular meetings and seminars aligned with the team’s objectives.c. Promoting collaboration between the academic community and the debating community, including educational and non-governmental institutions.I coordinate the team’s work, create a schedule, and ensure tasks are completed on time. Additionally, I prepare an annual report on the team’s activities and submit it to the Board of the Polish Rhetoric Society.

At Fundacja Projekty Edukacyjne, I leverage my expertise in rhetoric and debate to empower civil society through enhanced public discourse and active civic engagement. My role encompasses:- Workshop Design and Delivery: I conduct workshops on rhetoric, argumentation, media literacy, and debates for high school students and educators, directly supporting the foundation's mission to elevate public debate and communication skills.- Debate Judging and Community Integration: As a debate judge in significant projects, I foster debating community integration and participant skill refinement. Noteworthy involvements include: Turniej Debat Historycznych Instytutu Pamięci Narodowej (A leading national Oxford historical debate project), Historia w Trasie: oksfordzkie Pomorskie (A 5-day debate expedition for secondary schools across Poland), Liga Debat Fundacji Orlen and Poznańska Liga Debat (Regional educational initiatives that promote critical thinking on societal, economic, and environmental issues).- Collaborative Initiatives: I collaborate with educational and scholarly institutions to develop resources and organize events like the showcase debate at the Rhetoric Congress organized by the Polish Rhetoric Society, enhancing the foundation's impact and educational reach.These contributions underscore my commitment to advancing rhetorical education and fostering an environment where communication skills and informed public participation thrive. Through hands-on workshops, critical debate judging, and strategic collaborations, I aim to enrich public discourse and encourage lifelong learning within the community.

As a Ph.D. student in Linguistics at the University of Warsaw, I am deeply immersed in exploring the rhetorical genre of competitive debate through my dissertation titled "Competitive Debate as a Rhetorical Genre." My research adopts the Rhetorical Genre Studies approach, treating genre as a typical social action based on recurring situations. I employ a diverse set of methodologies, including genre criticism, source analysis, corpus studies, experimental research using surveys, and ethnographic studies in the realm of rhetoric in situ.My research aims to (1) create a scholarly monograph on competitive debate in its various forms (educational and sport) and formats; (2) reconstruct the figure of the ideal debater and their rhetorical competencies; (3) demonstrate the relationship between genre awareness and the awareness of educational/developmental goals of debating; (4) explore differences in debate evaluation between existing assumptions and judging practice, including the influence of judging philosophy on the shape of competitive debates.The study encompasses three debate formats: Karl Popper debate, Lincoln-Douglas debate, and British parliamentary debate, selected for their differences in speech duration, number of participants, speaker responsibilities, prior knowledge of the thesis/topic, questioning mode (open or fixed), and judging criteria. This comprehensive exploration advances our understanding of competitive debate as a rhetorical genre and sheds light on its educational and developmental implications.Through my PhD journey, I am committed to bridging the gap between theoretical frameworks and practical applications of rhetoric in competitive debates, aiming to enrich both academic knowledge and practical debate practices. I want to connect with professionals and researchers interested in language, persuasion, and education dynamics.
