Two years of academic experience designing, implementing, and optimizing single-cell library construction protocols, sequencing strategies, and bioinformatics pipelines. Specifically, my project developed an efficient method of enriching rare cells from cancer patient blood samples and performing state-of-the-art single-cell sequencing protocols on these cells. Gained significant experience performing in-depth analyses of RNA-seq, miRNA-seq, and whole-genome seq datasets; such analyses include single-cell normalization, heterogeneity analysis, dimensionality reduction, data visualization, differential gene expression analysis, gene set enrichment analysis, supervised/unsupervised machine learning, neural networks.

Worked full time in a neuroscience lab to ensure that each PhD student’s research project ran as smoothly as possible. Duties included performing a variety of in vitro and in vivo experiments for several different projects, interpreting results, placing orders for the lab, and running a Life Technologies supply center which provided to the entire research facility.
