Joined as the company was ramping up its development effort on the Shop System, a lower-cost, high-throughput metal 3D printer. As a contract-engineered product, the Process Team became the core internal development group for which I was team lead. We were able to specify and validate hardware and software design changes and develop the process to meet our MVP requirements for an on-time launch. This success was followed by an aggressive campaign of new alloy releases and continuous improvement.Senior Process Engineer and Team Lead: • Validated design of proof-of-concept, alpha, and beta systems machines, providing feedback and recommendations to contract engineering team. • Tested, measured and optimized the printing process and the resulting printed parts against internally developed product requirements, informed when possible from ASTM, MPIF or other industry standards. • Partnered with external and internal teams to deliver six unique Desktop Metal branded, turnkey metal powders for use with the Shop System. Championed several color reproduction specific improvements in the ZPrinter 650 ColorJet 3D printer.• Modeled and implemented a PID control loop for powder metering from a hopper.• Explored machine learning models in R as a replacement for existing print-time and consumable-usage estimation algorithms.• Advocated for and helped implement an internal variable drop-size printing and expansion to a 10-bit internal data path.

OE was an inclusive disability organization inspiring personal growth through outdoor adventures. Volunteer Guide, Webmaster (2003-) and Assistant to the Program Director (Spring, 2004). • Trip guide on kayaking, bicycling, hiking and community service programs. Volunteers ensure programs are fun, save experiences where everyone fully participates. • Worked closely with OE staff to keep the website current and informative. • Assisted the Program Director with arranging upcoming programs, scheduled and organized OE's 80 volunteers, and developed tools for tracking program and participant statistics.
