Teaches English in a blended learning environment

On a contract basis, facilitates Project Based Learning trainings for Magnify Learning at introductory and advanced levels. Trains teachers in the components, development, and implementation of PBL and the PBL classroom either within their home district or in open workshops. With the facilitator advisory board, meets when necessary to evaluate and adjust training materials as well as certification processes. Additionally, writes blog posts for the Project Based Learning Blog.

Coaches foil fencers. Employs techniques learned in coaching clinics hosted by NCAA winningest fencing coach Laurence Schiller and fencing maestro Paul Geraci, as well as from her own college coach, two time Olympian Dr. Mark Smith. Coaches fencers during practices and at tournaments as part of the Great Lakes High School Fencing Conference.

Functioned as a teacher and instructional coach (literacy and PBL) who participated regularly in the mentorship of teachers new to Lowell High School, with mentees both in similar content areas and in Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses utilizing the Workplace Specialist licensing program. Acted as an assistant team leader in a team of teacher leaders that met regularly with administration. Taught Advanced Placement Seminar, Advanced Placement Research, dual credit English W-131 through Indiana University, English 10, short stories, and Read 180 developmental reading. Previously led critical friends group meetings--weekly meetings of small groups of teachers brainstorming and problem solving classroom lessons and dilemmas as well as analyzing student data to drive instruction. Previously taught speech, advanced speech, English 11, English 12, language lab, expository writing, and integrated debate/government. Gained proficiency in Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's Read 180 reading remediation program, Echo and Edmodo learning management systems, and Skyward and Harmony student management systems. Other responsibilities have included meeting regularly with administrators to determine school-wide next steps based on English data, implementing school-wide writing initiatives. Coached the school's fencing club, which she founded, from 2013-2018.

Developed the curricula for debate, developmental reading, and etymology and revamped the AP English Language and Composition curriculum. In addition to these courses, also taught language arts 8 and basic skills and looped from English 9 to English 10.Other responsibilities included coaching the school's Spell Bowl team (2010-2011) and debate team (2011-2012).

Alongside English department head, crafted teaching repertoire while teaching British literature survey B (Romantic to Modern era), etymology, and AP Literature and Composition.Other responsibilities included acting as coaching assistant for the West Lafayette debate team, which led to judging policy debate at the National Forensics League national championships in Kansas City (2009-2010).
