I built and scaled legal and compliance processes such as marketing and privacy compliance while simultaneously supporting the product and engineering teams to launch new products and features. Served as legal counsel for Earnin's finance team on a variety of matters including corporate governance, options, capital markets activities, debt facility, and financing arrangements.Responsible for Earnin's privacy initiatives. Oversaw and managed ongoing privacy program compliance in partnership with Compliance, and readied the Company for CCPA compliance in under 3 months. Worked closely with the people operations team to serve as employment counsel on matters including, employee relations, distributed workforce, hiring and recruitment, leave matters and policy development.

I represented individuals, corporate entities and municipalities in white collar criminal defense matters and regulatory investigations by the California Attorney General’s Office, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Represented a company that was the subject of a wide-ranging healthcare fraud investigation by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, which ultimately declined to prosecute. Represented board of directors of a non-profit organization under investigation by the California Attorney General concerning suspected misuse of funds by directors of the organization.Represented an individual employee, indicted along with their employer, in an alleged money laundering/black market peso exchange scheme.
