Dr. Pascual is a Johns Hopkins-trained Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM) physician with 10+ years of combined interdisciplinary healthcare, research, and advisory experience in the public and private sectors. He graduated from Brown University where he double majored in Human Biology and Ethnic Studies. Prior to medical school, he taught high school biology through Teach for America in the South Bronx, where he also obtained a master’s degree in education. Following TFA, he was selected as a Health for America Innovation Fellow and co-founded Galva, a stroke education and wellness startup for stroke survivors and caregivers (acquired by MedStar Health in 2017). Prior to receiving his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine, he completed his away rotation in OEM at Harvard/CHA. Dr. Pascual received multiple offers from the nation’s top OEM residency programs including University of Utah, Duke, and Harvard. After completing his internal medicine year in the nation’s capital, Dr. Pascual began his OEM residency at Johns Hopkins, where he is an MPH candidate and Chief Resident. His clinical interests within OEM include: 1) disability medical evaluations, 2) worker’s compensation, 3) industrial hygiene & toxicology, 4) legal/regulatory compliance, and 5) Total Worker Health. Dr. Pascual has rotated at a wide array of clinical sites and regulatory agencies including Concentra, INOVA Health, Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), and International Association of Firefighters (IAFF). Outside of occupational health, his interests include AI, design-thinking, lifestyle medicine, and public health research. Dr. Pascual has authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Annals of Emergency Medicine, Workplace Health & Safety, and Journal of Patient Experience. He has also written for mainstream publications such as The Huffington Post, Business Insider, and KevinMD. In 2023, Dr. Pascual founded Levant Health, LLC where he is a physician consultant and medical provider for corporate clients including CVS/Signify Health, Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), HV Health & Safety, OSH 360, Hippocratic AI/Myelin Healthcare, NASA, and OpenAI. A certified DOT and C&P medical examiner, Dr. Pascual has unrestricted medical licenses to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia and will be dual-board eligible in June 2025 under the American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine and American College of Preventive Medicine.
