As an Officer-Green Response (Environmental Sustainability) at the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, I am dedicated to advancing our organization's environmental sustainability initiatives. My role involves implementing and managing projects that mitigate disaster risks and enhance climate resilience. I am passionate about creating sustainable solutions that benefit both our community and the environment. With a strong academic background in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Chittagong, I have developed a robust skill set in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS). My expertise includes geostatistical interpolation, satellite image processing, image segmentation and classification using machine learning algorithms, automation, land cover indices, land change modeling, and time-series analysis. In addition to my current role, I have extensive experience as a Research Consultant at the Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services (CEGIS). My work there involved developing automated tools for river centerline extraction using Google Earth Engine (GEE), land use mapping with satellite images, and various other geospatial analyses.Throughout my career, I have been involved in various projects, from small web applications to national-level geodatabase preparation. My expertise includes processing satellite images, on-screen digitization, and data extraction to support environmental and natural resource management projects. As a Research Consultant at CEGIS, I have processed around 150,000 sq km of satellite images, conducted visual interpretation and analysis, prepared land use layers, and performed geospatial analysis. I have also created over 10,000 maps using Python automation for a national project. What sets me apart is my ability to contribute to research ideas and support methodology formulation for research projects. As a Research Assistant to Dr. Atiqur Rahman at the University of Chittagong, I supported the development of research ideas and methodologies for thesis students. I have also conducted field surveys and performed geospatial and statistical analyses to identify Child-Friendly Spaces (CFSs) and Adolescent-Friendly Spaces (AFSs) prone to flood and landslides as a Research Consultant at BRAC.I am always looking for opportunities to collaborate and learn from colleagues. If you are searching for a motivated and innovative geospatial professional who can bring fresh ideas and make an immediate impact, let's connect and discuss how I can help you achieve your geospatial goals.
