ActionAid Australia is a women's rights organisation working to empower women to fight injustice and claim their human rights. ActionAid is responding in over 40 countries globally to the ‘three waves 
of crisis’ unleashed by COVID19 as a public health pandemic, economic shock and widespread hunger converge to take a deadly toll worldwide. Women around the world are leading the charge in 2021. As crisis after crisis unfolded in 2020, women found themselves on the frontlines and stepped up to lead their communities through COVID-19, the climate crisis and economic recession, all while facing rising levels of gender-based violence. My role as Chief Operating Officer reports to the Executive Director on strategic issues that concern the Board of Directors regarding the day to day operations including strategic management, financial management and budget, governance, information technology, administration and risk management, human resources and organisational leadership and management.

As Chief Financial Officer at Opportunity International Australia (microfinance specialist organisation), I manage the organisation's finance, risk, compliance, technology and human resources functions with the support of my small agile team.I work cross-departmentally to ensure Opportunity's financial information is reported accurately. In recognition, Opportunity has won and been runner-up of the PwC Transparency Award since 2011. As a not-for-profit with limited resources, I initiated and designed Opportunity’s incredibly successful volunteer and intern program which contributes in excess of 6,000 hours of pro bono and volunteer support annually. I have also been a key driver of the organisation’s performance management system, recognised as one of the best in Australia’s not-for-profit sector.
