Current1. Develop scintillating nanomaterials to directly detect biologically-relevant low-energy radioisotopes (e.g., 3H, 14C, 33P, 35S) in aqueous solutions.2. Establish new platforms for developing the scintillation proximity assay (SPA).3. Design, synthesis, characterization of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), silica-coated polystyrene nano- and micro-particles, colloidal CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals, colloidal noble metal nanoparticles and nanoclusters, carbon nanodots.4. Mentor undergraduate and high school student researchers to conduct independent research projects.5. Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation, establish standardized lab protocols for enhanced efficiency and consistency in research and teaching laboratories. 6. Regulate and monitor the handling of radioactive materials within the research laboratory to ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.7. Taught lab courses:a.
