Joined the Massachusetts Army Naitonal Guard in 1990. Trained as a Computer Programmer. Received my Commission in 1993. Last assignment Major and the Commander of the Massachusetts Selective Service.I joined the military at the advice of my mother. I had come home from teaching English in Japan and wanted to get my Master's in education. I never ended up getting my masters but made a career with the military in the National Guard and am so thankful. Military changed my life. I gained confidence and was able to shed my depression and met some incredible people including my wonderful loving husband.I will miss the military but have completed my mission.

Taught English to all level students from elementary students to corporate personnel in Osaka, Japan. This opportunity presented itself when my college roommate called from Japan asking if I was interested to come to Japan and teach. I was so nervous to say yes but I took the leap. As it turns out, it was the second best decision I've ever made (the military being the first). Looking back, this taught me such a valuable lesson of don't say no to opportunities even though you're afraid.Upon coming home I traveled to Hong Kong, Thailand, and Korea. Thailand was my absolute favorite. I'll be going back again and staying for a month someday.
