The ability to mentor youth and instill in each participant an understanding of the environment and science is what I enjoyed about my work as a Program Coordinator for Austin Youth River Watch, a well-respected non-profit organization in the Austin community. As a certified TPWD Project WILD and Growing Up WILD facilitator, I plan and conduct professional development workshops for formal and non-formal educators. With a strong passion for conservation biology and environmental education, I was motivated as a Project Specialist with the Council for Environmental Education to create relevant and engaging environmental education curricula. As a professional, qualities that describe me include: adaptable, self-motivated, collaborative, and positive. As a 7th grade Life Science teacher for three years, I gained valuable skills such as communicating to diverse audiences, connecting to new people, as well as managing time, materials, and personalities.
