I am a Senior Researcher at CERTH/CPERI (Thessaloniki, Greece) where I pursue, manage and conduct research activities mostly related to low temperature plasma applications and energy related themes under EU funded projects (Horizon Europe etc). In parallel, I co-lead initiatives in the Hellenic plasma community to disseminate knowledge and establish basic as well as applied research projects based on national/international cooperation. I have also served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the International Hellenic University – School of Mechanical Engineering. I hold a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH, Thessaloniki Greece), a Master of Science (MSc) in Aerospace Mechanics and Avionics from ISAE-SUPAERO (Toulouse, France) with a specialization in Advanced Fluid Dynamics and a PhD in Plasma Engineering & Fluid Dynamics from ISAE-SUPAERO/LAPLACE (Toulouse, France). Previous to my current appointment, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin - Dept of Aerospace Engineering & Engineering Mechanics (Austin, TX, USA) followed by a Research Associate position. I have also served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at ONERA-The French Aerospace Lab (Toulouse, France) before joining CERTH/CPERI (Thessaloniki, Greece) in 2020. My research interests span over multidisciplinary areas of engineering and applied physics with a strong focus on simulation techniques and atmospheric plasma discharges. I have performed and managed R&D activities in the fields of computational multi-physics, plasma physics, electro-hydrodynamics, aerodynamics and CFD, electromagnetism, metamaterials, numerical modeling and high performance computing (HPC) related but not limited to energy, plasma and aerospace technologies. I have participated in numerous national and international research projects both in EU and USA, disseminating my results in prestigious scientific journals, international conferences and seminars. I serve as a Reviewer for several high-impact factor journals. I was the recipient of the 1st prize award at the 8th annual AIAA-PEGASUS conference-contest among more than 30 European participants, the best PhD thesis award from ISAE-SUPAERO foundation (2015) and a 3-year scholarship as a 'unique doctoral contract' (CDU) from the French Government (2011). I strongly believe that science, engineering, research and innovation along with entrepreneurship, constantly shape our common future and can provide global solutions to our problems.
